Regular Season Round 21: Noerdlingen - FC Bayern II 69-66

There was a surprise result in Noerdlingen where twelfth ranked Giants (5-16) edged higher ranked FC Bayern II (12-8) 69-66 on Sunday. Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. FC Bayern II was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Eddy Edigin (201-95) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and American guard Terence Smith (193-91, college: Mississippi) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Giants players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Tobias Korndoerfer (204-90) with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Karim Jallow (199-97) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. FC Bayern II's coach Oliver Kostic tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Giants maintains twelfth place in South with 5-16 record. Newly promoted FC Bayern II keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Giants will face higher ranked Fraport Skyliners II (#9) in Frankfurt in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. FC Bayern II will play at home against the league's leader Karlsruhe PS (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
