Regular Season Round 19: Usak - Anadolu Efes 78-80

Fourteenth-ranked Usak Sportlif (5-14) made lots of trouble for second ranked Anadolu Efes (17-2) on Monday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Tyler Honeycutt (203-90, college: UCLA) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Greek-American center Zach Auguste (208-93, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds and Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89, agency: Players Group) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Anadolu Efes have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce. Usak Sportlif lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. Anadolu Efes is looking forward to face Tofas (#9) in Bursa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Usak Sportlif will play at home against Istanbul BBSK (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
