Regular Season Round 25: Acibadem - Mamak DSI 95-69

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Acibadem (17-8) rolled over 17th ranked Mamak DSI (4-21) in Istanbul 95-69 on Wednesday. Acibadem dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mamak DSI's 38. They outrebounded Mamak DSI 40-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Acibadem looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. The former international center Mutlu Demir (210-87) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Acibadem players scored in double figures. Acibadem's coach Serhan Aydanarig felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international swingman Ulug Kacaniku (202-85) answered with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St., agency: Two Points) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Mamak DSI. Acibadem moved-up to fifth place. Mamak DSI lost fifteenth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. Acibadem will face higher ranked Socar Petkim (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mamak DSI will play against Muglaorman (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
