Regular Season Round 29: Edremit - Urla BLD 73-67

Everything went according to plan in Balikesir where third ranked Edremit (23-6) beat 10th ranked Urla BLD (14-15) 73-67. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Edremit forced 21 Urla BLD turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Edremit especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 72.7 percentage. Forward Betul Pehlivan (178-88, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). American guard Danaejah Grant (175-94, college: St.John's) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks and forward Seda Guclu-Aydin (182-88) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Urla BLD. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Edremit. They maintain third place with 23-6 record having five points less than leader Bornova. Urla BLD at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Edremit's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked 55 Genclik (#20) in Samsun which should be an easy win for them. Urla BLD will play at home against Ferko Ilgaz (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
