The most important game in the last round took place in Wels between third ranked Raiffeisen Wels (13-10) and sixth ranked Vienna (12-13) on Saturday night. Raiffeisen Wels were defeated by Vienna in a tough game at home 70-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Raiffeisen Wels. Raiffeisen Wels were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 27-19 charge of Vienna, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Anthony Clemmons (186-94, college: Iowa) who scored 22 points. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) chipped in 22 points. Four Vienna players scored in double figures. The former international Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and American guard DeJuan Wright (190-88, college: FIU) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Vienna maintains sixth position with 12-13 record. Raiffeisen Wels at the other side keep the third place with ten games lost. Vienna will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Raiffeisen Wels will play on the road against Arkadia Lions in Traiskirchen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
