Regular Season Round 20: Neuss - Goettingen 55-69

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Neuss. Second ranked Goettingen faced 4th ranked TG Neuss. Guests from Goettingen (17-3) defeated host TG Neuss (13-7) 69-55. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 43-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Trinidad and Tobago center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Inesa Visgaudaite (169-91) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Goettingen's coach Giannis Koukos used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Deanna Weaver (180, college: Boise St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 20 rebounds and power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Goettingen have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of North leader, which they share with Wolfenbuettel. TG Neuss at the other side keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Goettingen is looking forward to face Osnabruecker (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TG Neuss will play against the league's leader Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#1) and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
