The game in Istanbul was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Afyon Bld (18-9) played at the court of 7th ranked Istanbulspor (16-10). Afyon Bld did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 88-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Istanbulspor. American guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) notched 27 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Even 26 points and 7 rebounds by American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) did not help to save the game for Istanbulspor. Guard Alican Guney (194-89, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 11 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Afyon Bld moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Istanbulspor keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Afyon Bld will play against Final Genclik (#16) in Bursa in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Istanbulspor will play on the road against Turk Telekom (#9) in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
