Regular Season Round 20: Kremen-2 - Niko-Basket 61-105

Everything went according to plan in Kremenchuk where fourth ranked Niko-Basket (11-13) outscored 6th ranked Kremen-2 (3-21) 105-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Niko-Basket. Kremen-2 was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kremen-2 to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Niko-Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Kremen-2's 32 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Niko-Basket forced 23 Kremen-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 44-31 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kremen-2 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vadim Zaplotinskiy (200-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and forward Sergiy Vershinin (195-95) who added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Niko-Basket players scored in double figures. Danylo Khablakov responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (190-80, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 21 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Niko-Basket maintains fourth position with 11-13 record, which they share with Dnipro-2. Kremen-2 lost fifth consecutive game. Kremen-2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with 21 games lost.
