Regular Season Round 25: Vytautas - P.Zvaigzdes 86-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Vytautas' (14-11) home victory over 7th ranked P.Zvaigzdes (10-15) in Prienai 86-74. The game was mostly controlled by Vytautas. P.Zvaigzdes was better in third quarter 21-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Vytenis Lipkevicius (196-89) fired 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) chipped in 19 points. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Steponas Babrauskas (197-84) produced 14 points and Osvaldas Olisevicius (200-93) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vytautas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Neptunas and Juventus. P.Zvaigzdes at the other side keeps the seventh position with 15 games lost. Vytautas' next round opponent will be league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. P.Zvaigzdes will play at home against Siauliai (#10) and hope to win that game.
