Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Balikesir: Banvit (#4) and Balikesir (#15). Despite it looked like an easy game for Banvit, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Guest Balikesir challenged much higher ranked Banvit giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by six points 79-73. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. International guard Furkan Korkmaz (198-97) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Joey Dorsey (206-83, college: Memphis) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington, agency: Diamond Sports) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Balikesir players scored in double figures. Banvit have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 15-5 record. Balikesir lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth place with 17 games lost. Banvit's next round opponent will be Tofas (#9) in Bursa where they are favorite. Balikesir will play at home against Gaziantep (#7) and hope to win that game.
