Regular Season Round 23: Aschersleben - Stade 78-63

Regionalliga round 23 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Stade (12-3) against fourth ranked Aschersleben (11-5) 78-63 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stade. American Sharif Hudson (188-92, college: Ark.-Monticello) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Croatian Robert Kujundzic (202-94) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Aschersleben's coach Christian Schafer used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spanish power forward Oscar Andres (200-87) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Mason Biddle (185-93, college: Western St.) added 14 points in the effort for Stade. Four Stade players scored in double figures. Aschersleben maintains fourth place in North with 11-5 record. Stade at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Schwelm. Stade will play next round against strong Sixers trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Aschersleben will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked ALBA Berlin II on the road.
