Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Duesseldorf (11-11) lost on the road to third ranked Muenster (16-6) 86-69 on Saturday. Muenster shot 61.2 percent from the field and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Gerrell Martin (190-93, college: LIU Brooklyn) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Anselm Hartmann (191-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Muenster players scored in double figures. Muenster's coach Phillip Kappenstein used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American point guard Jeremy Lewis (180-86, college: St.Thomas, TX) answered with 27 points and 5 assists and Lithuanian swingman Paulius Kleiza (194-88) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Duesseldorf. Muenster have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in West, which they share with Hagen BG. Loser Duesseldorf dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Muenster will face Salzkotten (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Duesseldorf will play against Frintrop and hope to win that game.
