We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Wasserburg II (4-14) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (3-16) 73-64 on Sunday. The game without a history. ASC Theresianum Mainz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was naturalized Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (181-87) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds. Forward Eva Marschall (182-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Sophie Perner produced 20 points and 4 assists and American forward Liz Wood (178-93, college: Maine) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Wasserburg II players scored in double figures. Wasserburg II's coach Wanda Guyton rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ASC Theresianum Mainz maintains eleventh position in South with 3-16 record. Loser Wasserburg II keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. ASC Theresianum Mainz will have a break next round.
