Ovarense outrebounded Lusitania 40-22 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Austrian-American forward Bryce Douvier (201-91, college: Texas A&M-CC) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American point guard Nick Novak (182-90, college: Pitt-Johnstown) chipped in 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side American forward Garrius Holloman (198-89, college: Beth.-Cookman, agency: Diamond Sports) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Anthony Holliday (191-92, college: Lamar) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Four Ovarense and five Lusitania players scored in double figures. Ovarense will meet at home Maia Basket (#10) in the next round. Lusitania will play against CAB Madeira and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
