Important game to mention about took place in Utena. Third ranked Lietuvos rytas (17-8) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Juventus (14-11) 87-85 in the fight for the third place. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Juventus. Juventus was ahead by 10 points after three quarters before a 28-16 charge of Lietuvos rytas, which allowed them to win the game. American-Georgian point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and American guard Jimmy Baron (191-86, college: Rhode Island) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Lietuvos rytas' coach Rimas Kurtinaitis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Lietuvos rytas and five Juventus players scored in double figures. Lietuvos rytas maintains third place with 17-8 record having five points less than leader Zalgiris. Juventus at the other side keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Neptunas and Vytautas. Lietuvos rytas will play against Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Juventus will play at home against the league's second-placed Lietkabelis (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
