Regular Season Round 20: Fenerbahce - Darussafaka 79-76

Fifth-ranked Darussafaka (13-7) was very close to win a game against first ranked Fenerbahce (18-2) in Istanbul on Monday. Fenerbahce managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Darussafaka. International point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) replied with 18 points and Croatian power forward Ante Zizic (210-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 12 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) in the effort for Darussafaka. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Darussafaka's coach David Blatt rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fenerbahce have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-2 record, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Fenerbahce is looking forward to face Galatasaray (#6) in Istanbul in the next round where they are favorite. Darussafaka will play at home against Besiktas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
