Regular Season Round 20: Anadolu Efes - Tofas 81-58
Date: March 6, 2017
The game between second ranked Anadolu Efes (18-2) and 9th ranked Tofas (9-11) in Istanbul on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Anadolu Efes outscored guests from Bursa 81-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tofas. Anadolu Efes had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by French guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 12 points and 9 assists and the former international guard Can Mutaf (190-91) supported him with 16 points. Even 14 points by Bulgarian power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Tofas. The former international point guard Baris Ermis (194-85) added 12 points and 4 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce. Newly promoted Tofas keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Anadolu Efes will meet Demir IBB (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Tofas will play against Banvit (#4) and hope to secure a win.
