The most exciting game of round 21 in the NBL took place in Plovdiv. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Balkan (9-10) to third ranked Academik Plovdiv (12-6) 85-82 on Friday evening. French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St., agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks for the winners and American guard Shakir Smith (185-92, college: Adams St.) chipped in 24 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Travis Daniels (202-92, college: Mississippi St.) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and the former international guard Stanimir Marinov (192-91, agency: Interperformances) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Four Balkan players scored in double figures. Academik Plovdiv maintains third place with 12-6 record having five points less than leader Lukoil Acad. Balkan lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Academik Plovdiv are looking forward to face Cherno More (#7) in Varna in the next round. Balkan will have a break next round.
