Second Stage Round 1: SumDU - Ternopil-TNEU 87-81

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Ternopil-TNEU (9-1) in Sumy on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by SumDU (4-6) 87-81. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 24-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. SumDU forced 20 Ternopil-TNEU turnovers. It was a great shooting night for SumDU especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Vitaliy Ignatchenko (188-91) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Sergei Glinchak (-89) contributed with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. SumDU's coach Yaroslav Kovalov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vladislav Ungurian answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and guard Mykola Krasnik (180-94) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ternopil-TNEU. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
