An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ankara. First ranked Bornova faced 4th ranked Cankaya. Guests from Bornova (28-3) defeated host Cankaya (22-7) 74-58. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Cankaya. Bornova forced 20 Cankaya turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Esra Sencebe (173-81) who scored 14 points and 9 assists. The former international forward Gulsah Akkaya (181-77, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Bornova players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Azerbaijani center Marcedes-Marie Walker (191-86, college: Pittsburgh) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Hande Celebi (-90) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Bornova have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 28-3 record. Cankaya at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Bodrum. Bornova are looking forward to face Mersin Uni (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Cankaya will play against Anadolu Univ. in Eskisehir and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
