Regular Season Round 27: Gelisim - Mamak DSI 81-76

There was no surprise in Izmir where 17th ranked Mamak DSI (5-22) was defeated by eleventh ranked Gelisim (12-16) 81-76. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gelisim outrebounded Mamak DSI 43-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for Bosnian-Slovenian center Hasan Rizvic (212-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). American point guard Adonte Parker (186-89, college: Dayton) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Ulug Kacaniku (202-85) answered with a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and American guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Mamak DSI. Four Gelisim and five Mamak DSI players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Gelisim. They maintain eleventh place with 12-16 record. Mamak DSI at the other side keeps the seventeenth position with 22 games lost. Gelisim will play against higher ranked Socar Petkim (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mamak DSI will play against Samsun (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
