Rather expected game when 8th ranked Westerstede (5-11) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Rendsburg (7-9) 88-80 on Saturday. Westerstede was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Christopher Geist (208-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and American swingman Martell Collins (196-93, college: SW Oklahoma St.) who added 21 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. Four Rendsburg players scored in double figures. Rendsburg's coach Bjarne Homfeldt allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Nigel Pruitt (201-94, college: Kennesaw St.) with 26 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Franjo Borchers (190-93) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Rendsburg maintains sixth position in North with 7-9 record. Westerstede lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost.
