Regular Season Round 24: Vilsbiburg - Rosenheim 96-75

Date: March 11, 2017
Very expected game when 8th ranked Rosenheim (10-12) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Vilsbiburg (15-7) 96-75 on Saturday. Vilsbiburg dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rosenheim's 36. Vilsbiburg forced 22 Rosenheim turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Czech center Lubos Novy (204-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and American swingman Kendall Timmons (195-90, college: Tulane) who added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Vilsbiburg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Croatian power forward Dino Erceg (203-85) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vilsbiburg have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in South-East with 15-7 record. Loser Rosenheim keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Vilsbiburg will face Ansbach (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Rosenheim will play against Bayreuth 2 and hope to win that game.
