Regular Season Round 24: Salzkotten - Muenster 89-100

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Salzkotten (11-12) was defeated at home by third ranked Muenster (17-6) 100-89 on Saturday. Muenster made 32-of-42 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Salzkotten was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Gerrell Martin (190-93, college: LIU Brooklyn) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Jan Koenig (201-93) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Muenster players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Bryce Leavitt (193-94, college: Seattle Pacific) with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and swingman Felix Wenningkamp (195-88) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Salzkotten's coach Stefan Schettke let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Muenster have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in West, which they share with Hagen BG. Salzkotten lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Muenster will face Frintrop (#12) in Essen-Frintrop in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Salzkotten will play on the road against Grevenbroich and hope to win that game.
