Regular Season Round 25: Jena - Ludwigsburg 80-95

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (12-12) defeated on the road 10th ranked Science City Jena (10-14) 95-80 on Saturday. EnBW Ludwigsburg made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American players dominated the game. Power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Clifford Hammonds (191-85, college: Clemson) accounted for 10 points and 6 assists. Five EnBW Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: BeoBasket) came up with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and guard Immanuel McElroy (194-80, college: Cincinnati) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Science City Jena in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for EnBW Ludwigsburg. They maintain eighth place with 12-12 record. Newly promoted Science City Jena keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Fraport SKY. EnBW Ludwigsburg will meet at home Braunschweig (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Science City Jena will play against Giessen 46ers (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
