Rather predictable result in Ankara where seventh ranked Istanbulspor (17-10) beat 9th ranked Turk Telekom (14-13) 104-100. Istanbulspor made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Turk Telekom turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. It was a good game for guard Alican Guney (194-89, agency: 1x1 Sports) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Elijah Johnson (192-90, college: Kansas) contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Istanbulspor's coach Hakan Yavuz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists and forward Mehmet Ozdogan (198-87) added 25 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Turk Telekom. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Istanbulspor maintains seventh place with 17-10 record. Turk Telekom at the other side keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Istanbulspor will play against Final Genclik (#16) in Bursa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Turk Telekom will play on the road against Pertevniyal (#15) in Istanbul and hopes to get back on the winning track.
