Regular Season Round 27: Trier - Kirchheim 72-74

The most exciting game of round 27 in the ProA took place in Trier. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Gladiators (15-12) to third ranked Kirchheim Knights (19-8) 74-72 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gladiators. It was a great evening for center Andreas Kronhardt (205-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. American Seth Hinrichs (201-93, college: Lafayette, agency: Duran International) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was point guard Simon Schmitz (188-90) with 21 points and American swingman Brandon Spearman (196-91, college: Hawaii) scored 16 points. Gladiators' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kirchheim Knights maintains third place with 19-8 record having five points less than leader MBC. Gladiators at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Oettinger R.. Kirchheim Knights are looking forward to face league's leader Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gladiators will play on the road against ETB Wohnbau (#15) in Essen and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
