Regular Season Round 16: Dynamo-NPU - Suzirja 69-50

The game in Kyiv was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Suzirja (11-9) played at the court of fifth ranked Dynamo-NPU (12-9). Dynamo-NPU did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 69-50 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Suzirja. The game was mostly controlled by Dynamo-NPU. Suzirja managed to win second period 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Suzirja to just 5 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Suzirja 49-29 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dynamo-NPU looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Olena Boiko (181-97) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Nataliia Tsiubyk (178-98) supported her with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Dynamo-NPU players scored in double figures. Dynamo-NPU's coach used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Even 6 points and 8 rebounds by center Tetiana Havrylchyk (193-0) did not help to save the game for Suzirja. Point guard Nataliia Smaliuk (170-97) added 9 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Dynamo-NPU have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Suzirja dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Blyskavky. Dynamo-NPU will meet at home Blyskavky (#5) in the next round. Suzirja will play against Interkhim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
