The game in Mykolaiv was also worth to mention about. Hoverla (9-5) played at the court of Niko-Basket (1-13). Hoverla managed to secure a 8-point victory 73-65. Niko-Basket was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 39-29 second half run of Hoverla. They outrebounded Niko-Basket 41-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The former international center Roman Gumeniuk (220-87) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Yevgen Koroviyakov (197-88) supported him with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 19 points by swingman Maksym Ozhegov (190-90) did not help to save the game for Niko-Basket. Forward Sergiy Vershinin (195-95) added 12 points and 5 steals for the hosts. Hoverla will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niko-Basket will play again at home against Hoverla (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
