Regular Season Round 28: Arkadia - Kapfenberg 86-89

The most exciting game of round 28 in the A Bundesliga took place in Traiskirchen. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Arkadia Lions (13-13) to third ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (15-11) 89-86 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Arkadia Lions. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Arkadia Lions won third quarter 24-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Arkadia Lions helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kareem Jamar (194-92, college: Montana) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 steals and the other American import power forward Carl Baptiste (208-90, college: Delaware, agency: Diamond Sports) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international point guard Benedikt Danek (176-86) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls maintains third position with 15-11 record having five points less than leader Oberwart. Arkadia Lions at the other side keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Vienna. Kapfenberg Bulls are looking forward to face league's second-placed Gmunden Swans in Gmunden in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Arkadia Lions will play on the road against Furstenfeld Panthers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
