Regular Season Round 26: Juventus - Lietkabelis 74-72

The most exciting game of round 26 in the LKL took place in Utena. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Lietkabelis (18-8) to sixth ranked Juventus (15-11) 74-72 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lietkabelis won fourth quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Juventus made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Lietkabelis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The former international guard Mindaugas Lukauskis (198-79) responded with 16 points and American point guard Lorenzo Williams (190-84, college: Rice) scored 7 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Lietkabelis' coach Kazys Maksvytis tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Juventus moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Neptunas. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Lietuvos rytas. Juventus is looking forward to face league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Lietkabelis will play at home against Nevezis and is hoping to win this game.
