Regular Season Round 21: Darussafaka - Besiktas 71-68

The most exciting game of round 21 in the BSL took place in Istanbul. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Besiktas (16-5) to fifth ranked Darussafaka (14-7) 71-68 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Besiktas. They outrebounded Besiktas 35-19 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) stepped up and scored 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 16 points. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard DJ Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) with 18 points and American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Darussafaka maintains fifth place with 14-7 record. Besiktas at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Darussafaka are looking forward to face bottom-ranked TED Kolejliler (#16) in Ankara in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Besiktas will play at home against Galatasaray (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
