Regular Season Round 31: Ormanspor - Elazig 60-63

The most exciting game of round 31 in the TKBL took place in Ankara. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Ormanspor (25-6) to eighth ranked Elazig (19-12) 63-60 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ormanspor. Elazig forced 24 Ormanspor turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: IU Northwest, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Esen Ozdemir (-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Point guard Serife Onar (167-96) answered with 14 points and guard Nihan Demirkol (172-92, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Ormanspor. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Elazig maintains eighth place with 19-12 record. Ormanspor at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Edremit. Elazig are looking forward to face Mersin Kurtulus (#17) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ormanspor's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ankara to the arena Cankaya.
