Second Stage Round 4: Steaua CSM - BC Timisoara 95-67

Third ranked Steaua CSM (14-8) crushed at home 5th ranked BC Timisoara (11-11) by 28 points 95-67, which is the biggest margin this round on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Steaua CSM. BC Timisoara managed to win fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Steaua CSM shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American power forward Randal Falker (201-85, college: S.Illinois) fired 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Lithuanian guard Marius Runkauskas (189-86, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 17 points and 8 assists. Five Steaua CSM players scored in double figures. International point guard Octavian Calota (189-84) produced 15 points and Montenegrin power forward Milos Komatina (206-84) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. BC Timisoara's coach Tudor Costescu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Steaua CSM moved-up to second place, which they share with CSU Sibiu. Loser BC Timisoara keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Steaua CSM will meet at home league's leader UBT Cluj Napoca in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Timisoara will play against Pitesti (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
