Regular Season Round 28: Chemnitz - Heidelberg 79-67

Date: March 18, 2017
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg's (16-11) road loss to fourth ranked Chemnitz (18-9) 67-79. Chemnitz players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by MLP Academics Heidelberg's players. The winners were led by American guard Chris Carter (195-92, college: Florida Tech, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import power forward Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 15 points by American point guard Vance Hall (193-91, college: Bellarmine) did not help to save the game for MLP Academics Heidelberg. Croatian point guard Hrvoje Kovacevic (190-86) added 10 points for lost side. MLP Academics Heidelberg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chemnitz maintains fourth position with 18-9 record. MLP Academics Heidelberg lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 11 games lost. Chemnitz's next round opponent will be Nuernberg (#12) in Nurnberg and are hoping to win another game. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play at home against Titans (#16) and hope to win that game.
