Regular Season Round 22: Fenerbahce - Demir IBB 89-68

Leader Fenerbahce delivered the twentieth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 14th ranked Demir IBB (6-16) 89-68 in Istanbul. It was a great shooting night for Fenerbahce especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) scored 18 points to lead the charge for the winners and Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Fenerbahce's coach Zeljko Obradovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American-Kazakhstan point guard Jerry Johnson (182-82, college: Rider, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 17 points and 6 assists and American power forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee Services) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fenerbahce (20-2) have an impressive 13-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Demir IBB lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. Fenerbahce will meet Balikesir (#15) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Demir IBB will play against Besiktas and hope to secure a win.
