Very important is a home loss of second ranked Beroe (13-7) against fifth ranked Spartak Pleven (10-9) on Saturday night. Host Beroe was defeated by Spartak Pleven in a tough game in Stara Zagora 84-89. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Beroe. Spartak Pleven had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin-Serbian center Milovan Savic (205-87) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds. Martin Marinov (191-85, agency: 011 Sports) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Spartak Pleven players scored in double figures. American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (191-87, college: S.Carolina) replied with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and DR Congolese forward Omari Gudul (206-94, college: Angelo St., agency: Two Points) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Beroe. Beroe's coach Ljubomir Minchev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Spartak Pleven maintains fifth position with 10-9 record. Beroe at the other side dropped to the third place with seven games lost. Spartak Pleven will play against higher ranked Rilski (#4) in Samokov in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Beroe will have a break next round.
