There was no surprise when 9th ranked SV Halle Lions (7-14) were defeated at home by third ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (14-8) 88-76. The game was mostly controlled by BC Pharmaserv Marburg. SV Halle Lions was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international power forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American guard Tonisha Baker (173-90, college: Campbell) supported her with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Even 16 points and 6 assists by American point guard Janee Thompson (170-93, college: Kentucky) did not help to save the game for SV Halle Lions. Her fellow American import forward Kaneisha Horn (185-92, college: USC, agency: Two Points) added 14 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Four SV Halle Lions players scored in double figures. SV Halle Lions' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. BC Pharmaserv Marburg maintains third position with 14-8 record having six points less than leader Wasserburg. SV Halle Lions lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 14 games lost.
