We should mention about the upset which took place in Usak, where higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (11-11) lost to thirteenth ranked Usak Sportlif (7-15) in a road game 71-86. Usak Sportlif outrebounded Pinar Karsiyaka 53-33 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Pinar Karsiyaka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Greek-American center Zach Auguste (208-93, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds to lead the effort and Latvian Rolands Freimanis (208-88, agency: Alti Sport) supported him with 32 points and 5 rebounds. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) did not help to save the game for Pinar Karsiyaka. His fellow American import power forward Josh Owens (206-88, college: Stanford) added 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for lost side. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Usak Sportlif moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Trabzonspor. Pinar Karsiyaka at the other side keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Usak Sportlif's next round opponent will be higher ranked Darussafaka (#5) in Istanbul and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
