Second Stage Round 5: Ch.Mavpy 2 - Dnipro-2 62-76

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Dnipro-2 (9-2) won against 12th ranked Ch.Mavpy 2 (4-8) in Cherkasy 76-62. It looked good early as Ch.Mavpy 2 took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dnipro-2 had a 16-10 second period charge getting the lead and Ch.Mavpy 2 was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-76. They outrebounded Ch.Mavpy 2 49-24 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Yusuf Sanon (190-99) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Forward Olexandr Tarasenko (199-96) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Nikita Voievoda (184-96) produced 24 points and 4 assists and swingman Ivan Tkachenko (197-97) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The victory was the third consecutive win for Dnipro-2. Newly promoted Dnipro-2 maintains tenth place with 9-2 record. Ch.Mavpy 2 at the other side keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Dnipro-2's next round opponent will be higher ranked Ternopil-TNEU (#9) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ch.Mavpy 2 will play against SumDU in Sumy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
