Regular Season Round 27: Lietkabelis - Nevezis 100-69

Very expected game in Panevezys where 9th ranked Nevezis (6-21) was rolled over by second ranked Lietkabelis (19-8) 100-69. The game was mostly controlled by Lietkabelis. Nevezis was better in fourth quarter 30-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lietkabelis dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Nevezis' players. It was a good game for the former international center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. American point guard Lorenzo Williams (190-84, college: Rice) contributed with 11 points and 7 assists for the winners. Coach Kazys Maksvytis's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Daiquan Walker (188-94, college: Cent.Florida) answered with 17 points and 4 assists and Serbian forward Ivan Smiljanic (199-89, agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Nevezis. Lietkabelis maintains second place with 19-8 record having five points less than leader Zalgiris, which they share with Lietuvos rytas. Nevezis at the other side keeps the ninth position with 21 games lost. Lietkabelis will play against Vytautas (#5) in Prienai in the next round. Nevezis will play at home against P.Zvaigzdes (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
