Regular Season Round 22: Goettingen - Wolfenbuettel 82-51

There was a change at the 2. Bundesliga leadership position after last games. Round 22 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (18-4). They were crushed by second ranked Goettingen (19-3) 82-51 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel. It was a key game for the top position in North. The game without a history. Goettingen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Goettingen dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel's 28. Trinidad and Tobago center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Jennifer Crowder (164-96) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Goettingen players scored in double figures. Goettingen's coach Giannis Koukos felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Alli Gloyd (185-92, college: Arizona) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (184-90) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Goettingen have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of North leader. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Goettingen.
