Regular Season Round 29: Bursaspor - Pertevniyal 84-67

Very expected game when 15th ranked Pertevniyal (8-21) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Bursaspor (22-7) 84-67 on Wednesday. Bursaspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Serbian power forward Dejan Borovnjak (207-86, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international forward Yunus Cankaya (199-85) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Bursaspor players scored in double figures. Guard Cagdas Erdogan (188-88) responded with 12 points and 6 assists and American point guard Lateef McMullan (180-90, college: Portland St.) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bursaspor have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Bursaspor maintains fourth place with 22-7 record. Pertevniyal lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 21 games lost. Bursaspor will face Turk Telekom (#8) in Ankara in the next round. Pertevniyal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Acibadem.
