Regular Season Round 30: Akhisar Bld - Istanbulspor 87-81

We should mention about the upset which took place in Akhisar, where higher ranked Istanbulspor (18-12) lost to twelfth ranked Akhisar Bld (12-18) in a road game 81-87. American forward Tyler Smith (200-86, college: Tennessee) notched 27 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!) to lead the effort and forward Cenk Sekeroglu (203-91) supported him with 8 points and 13 rebounds. Even a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds by American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) did not help to save the game for Istanbulspor. His fellow American import guard Elijah Johnson (192-90, college: Kansas) added 20 points and 6 rebounds. Istanbulspor's coach Hakan Yavuz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Akhisar Bld moved-up to eleventh place. Newly promoted Istanbulspor keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Akhisar Bld's next round opponent will be Final Genclik (#17) in Bursa where they are favorite.
