There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Schwabing (12-12) won against at home 5th ranked TSV Troester (14-10) 80-71 on Saturday. Schwabing forced 19 TSV Troester turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Schwabing made 8 blocks. TSV Troester was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian guard Dimitrije Mrdja (188-98) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. American forward Billy McDonald (198-94, college: Caldwell) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Schwabing players scored in double figures.
