An interesting game took place in Ankara, where higher ranked Afyon Bld (20-11) lost to sixteenth ranked Mamak DSI (8-22) in a road game 83-96 on Saturday. Mamak DSI made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 8 assists. The other American import guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St., agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Johndre Jefferson (207-88, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Afyon Bld's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Mamak DSI have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixteenth position with 8-22 record. Loser Afyon Bld keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Mamak DSI will face higher ranked Istanbulspor (#7) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Afyon Bld will play against Socar Petkim where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
