Regular Season Round 26: Coburg - Jena II 112-66

Regionalliga top team - Coburg (22-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Jena II (13-11) 112-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Jena II. Coburg made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Jena II 44-33 including 29 on the defensive glass. Jena II was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jordan Burris (201-92, college: CS San Bernar.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Forward Fabian Franke (198-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Coburg players scored in double figures. American Vincent Garrett (198-91, college: Green Bay) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 18 rebounds and forward Moritz Morschhaeuser (196-90) added 8 points in the effort for Jena II. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Coburg maintains first position in South-East with 22-2 record. Jena II at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. Coburg will face Bayreuth 2 (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Jena II will play against Bad Aibling (#3) and hope to win that game.
