Second Stage Round 7: Krivbas-2 - Hoverla 69-65

There was a change at the Higher League leadership position after last games. Round 7 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Hoverla (12-6). They were defeated by second ranked Krivbas-2 (13-5) 69-65 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Hoverla. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Hoverla trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 21-8 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 65-69 at the end of the game. Krivbas-2 forced 22 Hoverla turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Sergey Startsev (190-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Evgeni Sergeychik (185-94) helped adding 19 points and 5 steals. At the losing side guard Oleksandr Shostuha (192-84) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and forward Yevgen Koroviyakov (197-88) scored 7 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Krivbas-2 keeps a position of league leader. Hoverla at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Zolotoi Vek. They were replaced at the leadership position by Dnipro-2. Hoverla will play next round against strong Zolotoi Vek trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Krivbas-2 will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Politekhn.Lvov in Lviv.
