The game in Utena was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Neptunas (17-11) played at the court of 5th ranked Juventus (15-13). Neptunas defeated Juventus 98-83 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. Juventus managed to win fourth quarter 29-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Juventus 37-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Neptunas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) who scored that evening 14 points and 5 assists and American Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke) supported him with 13 points and 6 assists. Neptunas' coach Dainius Adomaitis used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 20 points and 4 assists by forward Gytis Sirutavicius (195-83) did not help to save the game for Juventus. Canadian guard Aaron Best (193-92, college: Ryerson) added 16 points for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Neptunas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 17-11 record. Loser Juventus keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Vytautas. Neptunas will meet league's second-placed Lietkabelis in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Juventus will play against Siauliai and hope to secure a win.
