Regular Season Round 34: Bodrum - Mersin Gelisim 67-64

Ninth-ranked Mersin Gelisim (19-15) was very close to win a game against fifth ranked Bodrum (25-8) in Mugla. Bodrum managed to secure only three-point victory 67-64. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Mersin Gelisim. Bodrum forced 30 Mersin Gelisim turnovers. Strangely Mersin Gelisim outrebounded Bodrum 39-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. American guard Shay Selby (175-90, college: Duke) fired 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international center Melek Bilge (193-89) chipped in 13 points. Bodrum's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center Nadia Parker (191-87, college: USC) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and the former international center Melike Yalcinkaya (189-93) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. They have a solid three-game winning streak. Bodrum moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cankaya. Mersin Gelisim at the other side keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Bodrum's next round opponent will be Orduspor (#12) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Mersin Gelisim will play against Edremit and hope to win that game.
